I doubt very seriously that has anything at all to do with it..

They have been playing the Midwest for decades. Just not so much the past few years.

Doubt very seriously that's the case either.

South Florida isn't really that close to NY.

This is not the HUGE Money ho the Grateful Dead were
with that said
they seem to tour were the money is and were they can get in and out easy

The east Coast is IDEAL for that

give the band a break...Hell...Phil is 71...Ya think he really wants to tour all over the place?

The man should be home chilling out....

at 71...my grandpa was in bed at 8 every night....

We are lucky to even read there are DATES

Its not ALL ABOUT ANY ONE OF US

I feel you on that, The midwest loves the dead and Furthur. I live about 5 minutes away from Deer Creek Music Center, which is still there and stronger than ever and Furthur at Deer Creek would be legendary and a nice reunion with Indiana Deadheds. Which i think are different becasue the whole town around deer creek has changed a lot and it is nicer and more friendly. I'm 17 years old and i can't afford to go on tour with furthur as much as i want to, i cannot afford it. So Furthur needs to start hitting up with the midwest becasue im getting angry seeing the same Cities every single tour. The Grateful Dead were an open minded band and didn't care about the polotics or money, they just loved to play shows and im not seeing it with Furthur becasue they play where the money is. East coast is expensive and they get all of the love and shows from the band when there is a fact a whole part of america filled with deadheads that can't go out and tour with the band Since im young I never got to see the Grateful Dead and I havent seen Furthur yet and Furthur is literally the closest thing I can get to seeing the Grateful Dead live. I have this image of Furthur at Deer Creek and I just wish it would come true. Bob and Phil you need to start thinking about playing in the midwest and go through it, and if its money you want you'd get it when you tour anywhere so buisness shouldn't matter but i guess it does when you get old.
I gotta get down, I gotta get down.

Frustrated is a perfect description of how I felt when I checked the website 15 times today until the dates were finally there and nothing near Chicago. No Alpine, Deer Creek, Pine Knob... any one stop would have satisfied many hungry people of the mid-west. The way I see it is here is only one way to settle this: August 1 becomes a travel day from Florida to Noblesville, IN and August 2 & 3 becomes the mid-west Furthur getaway. Book it and we will be there Come on now jump on board mid-westerners!

Why is this question directed at Phil and Jill anyway?

I dont think they have a thing to do with the tour schedule

Ummm because they frequent this site and Phil is the bass player in the band.

I never said they made the tour schedule. I'm just asking what the reasoning is for the lack of Midwest love is.

It's an honest question.
